The current guidelines cover areas of research involving genetically engineered organisms, genetic transformation of plants, rDNA technology in vaccine and diagnostics development and on large scale production and deliberate/accidental release of organisms, plants, animals and products derived by rDNA technology into the environment and also import and shipment of GMOs/transgenics for laboratory research and large scale use.
